For this week’s Coach Feature Series we introduce you to Billy Di Sera, head coach of the Girls ’10 Red team. Here’s a little more about Coach Di Sera…

Briefly introduce us. My name is Billy Di Sera.  My wife Becca and I have two children, McKenzie (10) and Xander (6).  We are both from Salt Lake and have lived in Utah our entire lives.

How did you get started with coaching soccer? I began coaching soccer when my daughter’s rec team needed a coach.  I have been fortunate enough to coach the CFC G10 team for two years now – they are a great group of girls!

What is your favorite thing about coaching? My favorite thing about coaching is helping players develop their skills, teamwork, and friendships.  I enjoy watching them achieve their goals and find success.

Any personal soccer philosophies? First and foremost, I want each player to have fun and have the desire to want to continue to play this great game.  Team sports provide our children so many opportunities that help prepare them for life.  Gives them opportunities to be active, build confidence, leadership skills, teamwork, friendships as well as dealing with adversity and success.  I believe it is my responsibility as a coach to foster a fun, positive environment to enhance these opportunities for our children.  At the same time, I enjoy helping players develop their games individually as well as a team.

When you aren’t coaching soccer what do you do for a living? When I am not coaching, I oversee the finance and accounting groups for a healthcare company.

Hobbies? I enjoy spending time with my family.  We enjoy traveling, skiing, playing sports as well as attending Utah Utes and RSL games.
